Essex Specialized Surgical Institute (E.S.S.I.) is searching for our new ASC Administrator who will oversee all operations and staff of our premier, state-of-the-art, same day ophthalmologic surgery center located in West Orange, NJ. You will be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving clinical excellence, patient and physician satisfaction, and financial targets. We have a staff of 40 FTEs, and our surgical facility includes a pre-op area, four spacious surgical suites and post anesthesia care unit. E.S.S.I. is a member for the OOMC family and has the support of a larger corporation with Human Resources, Billing and Collections, Finance, and other departments located nearby at our Iselin, NJ headquarters.   Responsibilities: - Develops, monitors and controls the staffing needs, operations and capital budgets. - Work in conjunction with the ASC Vice President in the evaluation and development of existing and new surgical services at the facility. - Manages the nursing, central supply, medical records, and business departments. - Administers and maintains programs for orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation to assess employee skills/aptitude. - Formulates and continually reassesses plans to reduce barriers to providing access to the highest quality patient service. - Develops, updates, and ensures compliance with appropriate departmental policies and procedure manuals for use by staff. - Promotes that the surgical programs and clinical services are in compliance with the respective components of regulatory and accrediting body standards. - Ensures that the equipment and facilities are in good functioning order each day, and that the medical staff has all the equipment and supplies necessary to care for patients in their area. Our ASC is a premier, state-of-the-art, same day ophthalmologic surgery center specifically designed to provide the latest technology, while providing patients with comfort, convenience and safe quality care. Our surgical facility includes a pre-op area, four spacious surgical suites and post anesthesia care unit. We operate Monday - Friday and are closed on Saturday and Sunday.   Responsibilities: - Performs the circulating nurse’s role and functions following approved operating room procedures to meet the requirements of scheduled procedures - Participates as a team member in support of the total perioperative process - Organizes time, equipment, supplies, and personnel to provide effective and efficient case management - Supervises and directs patient care in a single operating room - Delegates activities appropriate to the abilities of available staff members - Considers cost containment by using supplies economically and in effective turnover time - Assists with supply, drug, and equipment inventories to maintain stock level and availability - Addresses patient needs during admission to the operating room, with attention to requirements specific to the outpatient setting - Transports patients to the operating room observing policies/procedures, safety requirements, and patient needs - Reviews patients’ medical records/needs to plan care with other healthcare team members - Assists with the proper and safe positioning of the patient and prepares operative site as directed by established procedures - Monitors compliance with principles of aseptic technique according to accepted standards - Provides continuity of patient care by communicating with other perioperative care personnel and documenting records accordingly - Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician   Requirements: - Must possess active NJ RN License, at time of hire - Operating Room experience   Company Overview: E.S.S.I. is a member of the OOMC family.
